Hi,

Just after some advice please, I have recently received a Vanquish PC from OCUK, and all seems good, however in 3dMark11 my physics score seems to be a little low at around 15fps (combined result is 23fps).

In the 3dMark11 Thread other PCs seems to be getting a lot more for the physics test with same gfx card (and at stock too !) maybe 20fps (that 33% faster !) and CPU my not be clocked up to 4gb either.

Any ideas please ?

yeah I got i7 @ 4ghz now, so was expecting a lot higher when compared to other systems with lower clocks.

I have run someother CPU bench tests (like cinebench 11.5) and CPU scores seem to be about right on these others.

Diddyman, have you got any energy efficiency settings running on your motherboard?. (Edit)

This is s CPU test only. And u got a pentium 4 dude?

They say in the post that they just received a Vanquish PC from OCUK. That and an X1950Pro obviously wouldn't be able to run a DX11 benchmark.

:D He obviously didn't read the post properly, just looked at specs and gave an answer :o.

I'm going to uninstall and re-installed 3dMark11 tonight, and if that fails, I'm going to try a fresh install of Win7 on a different HD to see if its all the AV/Firewall stuff etc behind the scenes causing the low score.

Looking at other peoples scores I should be getting low 20's on the physics but am nowhere near this.

I think nvidia physx can inflate other peoples CPU scores - and you having an AMD card would not have this.

Just a suggestion, maybe its not that :)

edit; nvm, I see you say other people with same card ^^;

Are you running anything else in the background that could be reserving/utilising a bit of CPU power?

The fresh install of 3D Mark11 or fresh operating system install should determine if anything in the background was using his CPU.

OK sorted it out now, I did an image restore on a spare HD of my system before I loaded most of the apps etc.

Physics Score was 15fps and it jumped to just over 26fps !!!

Something was stopping the cores firing up on full speed, on the cpu monitor they were only running at about 50%.

If I run the 32bit 3dmark it would work fine and they would be maxed out, but the 64bit program would not max the cores hence my low score.

It turned out to be Comodo Firewall, even disabling it didnt fix it, but after a proper uninstall system is maxing out the cores again.

So off to find another firewall now, over all my 3dmark11 score went from P4951 to P5417 that i7 @4ghz and 6970@stock
