3DMark 2001 not running - Vista64

I've just set up my new rig and I'd like to get to benchmarking and overclocking, but I seem to have run into problems with 3DMark 2001.

It's the latest 330 version, I've enabled XP SP2 compatibility mode and still it won't run.

Vista tells me it's switched to basic colour mode and then that the program has stopped working.

Vista 64 SP1 fresh install

Latest (AFAIK) 8.10 drivers

Any ideas?

Google only brought up the XPSP2 "fix"...

EDIT - The only non-standard thing I've done is pointed the install directory to E: instead of C:\Programs x86

I pretty much have the same problem in '05 and '06, but not '03 strangely enough...

Sorted.

I needed to update my DirectX with the latest updates.

I had assumed that, being the latest version of Windows, it would already have these :rolleyes:
