3dmark05 score query

Is 8912 a good score for a 7900GT?

I'm @ 532/1600Mhz atm and I ran the benchmark with High Quality settings on nVidia control panel.

(If that is a low score another thing is I *think* AA and AF were forced on in the control panel, will have to test this later)

Was just hoping someone could give me a insight on the scores I should be reaching

7900GTs are meant to be about the same as X1800XTs and I score 9500 at stock with my X1800... Seems nearly there, maybe a bit more tweaking and you should be spot on

Hi guys 1st post and I also have a score query,

I got a score of 5387

running a

P4 3.06ghz
1.5 gig Ram
AGP 7800 GS OC 256mb (BFG)

All this is inside a Dell Dimension PC with a 250w PSU

Is this score about right? thanks in advance

I would say thats a bit low... I was getting around 7100 with my old X850XT and I thought 7800s were meant to be a fair bit faster. You may be a bit CPU limited there though so might be worth overclocking your chip a bit

set it to high performance, will break 9k easily then.
also make sure aa/af/transpara aa are all off

ive Oced my xfx to 570/850 and got 9503

thanks, I dont think the Dell motherboard lets the cpu be overclocked, I had a feeling my CPU would probably be the weak point in my pc, or do you think maybe the PSU could be a problem?

7800GS is about on par with a X850XT.
Still the score is low but then its a P4.

8200 score with High Performance settings (Card @ Stock speeds for first test)

Gona do the OC'd test in a bit.

For some reason when I set the quality to low it doesn't change anything...
Back when I was on ATI you could visably see a huge difference, does this not happen on NVidia (NVidia n00b I guess)

Hi mate and welcome to the Best forum on the interweb.
I would just like to say i would be slightly concerned about that generic PSU you are running. 250 seems well light and i don't think Dell use the best manufacturers.
Put a quality PSU on your shopping list.

You can see a preview of the difference on the new nVidia control panel

Difference is big in IQ but the difference in performance is very low.

Can't find the preview. But manageed to get it set properly this time.
7775 points all stock. (see sig for specs)

Need some serious tweaks still though...

(or does that sound right for 450:660 on the 7900GT)

Get 7261 3DMarks with X1800GTO at stock

But has been unlocked to 16pipes :-)

Your score seems a little low tho!

You can find the Preview if you do the following...

Open the nVidia CP > 3D Settings > To the left of the screen "Adjust image settings with a preview"

Putting my Core/Memory OC back on now @ 532/798, will see the difference in marks.

Ive just bought the HIS X1900 XT IceQ and at stock on my first run I got 11224 3dmark 05, Ive clocked it to XT-X and I got 11600 on the next test.

Hmmm still can't see it....
Could it be the drivers I am on? - I'm using 84.21

Also I'm using the secondary slot on my board (chipset heatisnk in the way at the top) so have the PCIe bandwidth at 8x.
On my X800XL I had no performance loss doing this, maybe it could be an issue now the rest of my pc is much faster.
