3dmark06... anyone else disappointed?

I normally look forward to Futuremark's offerings, mainly to be blown away by the fantastic eye-candy they come up with.

Anyway, 3dmark06 was a real let down for me. It seems to be just '05 with more textures and colours. One new test (deep freeze, or something). I wasn't even impressed with the HDR. I scored 4707, for what it's worth.

Anyone else feel let down?

No, you're missing my point. To be honest, if I can play the latest games with everything whacked up and still get decent fps, then I'm pretty happy.

But, I also like being wowed by pretty pictures! I think it goes back to my old C64 and Amiga demo days, sitting there for ages and being impressed by how many different sprites such-and-such group could get on the screen..!

I like looking at tech demos and appreciating how great they look, not if my score is 1% better than someone elses. Come on people, size doesn't matter! Well, at least that's what I tell my girlfriend...
