Hi all,

Finally got my spanking new system built after hassles with motherboard problems :)

Finally got round to doing a first benchmark with the system in standard configuration....haven't messed with anything other than setting the mem voltage to 2.1V for the ram...will update my sig with new config after this.

Anyways, does this look reasonable for the spec?

Cheers :)

Well his cpu isn't overclock which should make a difference,

But it should be higher than that i'm sure

No probs mate!

I've discovered an annoyance with this BIOS (711)....if I configure my DRAM timings manually then it drops the gfx PCIe down to 1x!!!?!? I read about this over one extremeforums but there's no definitive solution :(

So for me I'm staying stock until this is sorted out. Very damned annoying!!

how do you know this to be the case?

If you go into cpu-z and look at the graphics link speed you'll see it's changed to 1x when it would normally be 16x.

There's also various bits about it towards the end of this thread... http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=112648

And you notice your gfx card slow down too....yep it's actually a noticable few fps as well! Damned annoying....posted a thread on Asus's VIP forum and if no-one knows I'll open a ticket with Asus.

But I'm still happy even at default settings after coming from my old setup...I can play HL2 Lost Coast at 1680x1050 with everything on full with 16xAF and 4xAF :D :D Not a chance in hell on my old setup!

kk i'l try checking when i get home, have you tried different versions of cpu-z as it could be a problem with this?

well this is the latest and judging by what people have said it does seem to be a problem with the bios unfortunately :( various people have suggested cures from raising the SB voltage to upping the PCIe frequency etc but none worked for me :(

It will compare to your active project. Should be two projects side by side.

Thanks. I was beginning to think mine was special or something, when it patently isn't ;)
