Hi,
I get 9814, 9797 and 9811.

These seem low to me for the relatively high spec system I have just built in the sig below. The 8800GTS is NOT overclocked as yet. I am running 3D mark with standard settings and it is the freebie one. My forceware drivers are 163.69 on fully patched up Vista Ultimate x64

These are rebooted figures with the test run straight from boot up and the only other software running is Avast antivirus.

I get a breakdown of:

Return to Prox 33fps
CPU red valley 1.5fps (yes 1.5 not 15)
canyon 34
freezer 41

What do you guys reckon? Particularly that CPU score of 1.5. Geez, I am on a q6600 overclocked to 3.4Gig !!!

Thanx for your thoughts, Steve

lol ... thats ok for the cpu score.
in fact I would say its about right that score ... vista produces lower scores in 06 than XP, seems par for the course with stock graphics card and settings.

Yeah you could defo get more than that. I'm certainly no expert but just spent 2 days tweeking and I have a score of 10,349 with the system laid out in my sig. :)
Yeah I thought the red valley scene was without the GPU, well I'd hoped lol.

Do you have the Nvidia settings set to performance?

That is not gonna reduce the rating by that amount I don't think?

Matthew
p.s. 'performance' setting looks awful, don't know why anyone would want to use it unless your struggling with fps.

He should be hitting 11.5 with that spec. If its set to high quality i would not be surprised if thats the difference.

You only use the performance setting when running 3d mark..............

Right guys.

Just scored 11424 :) after only ten minutes tinkering. System is air cooled BTW

Using Riva tuner.

Only adjusted "performance 3D". OK? Or should I adjust the others too?

Set Core clock to 622 (left "link clocks" ticked). Shader clock 1440.

Set mem clock to 900.

All seems OK and GPU temp @ 61C after 3D mark.

Ticked apply at startup as well.

Any suggestions?

If I push it too far and computer wonlt start, what then?

Thanks,

Steve

Mate if you have UAC enabled then Riva wont auto load at windows start - UAC blocks it and you have to manually allow it everytime. Grrr.
You'll either need to disable UAC (no thanks) or just manually run it after loading windows. If its blocked then it looks like it goes back to stock speeds which is annoying having to keep changing it everytime your turn your PC on. :(

Hi Dr Sarf.

Yepm I noticed this UAC thing as well. I just disabled *** UAC. It mght add more security but I find it a pain in the bum to be frank.

I notic some dudes reporting memory at 1900. Surey not !!! My slider only goes up to round 1150 odd.......

UAC is part of the MS control freak "let me manage your settings because you can't be trusted" mentality, turn it off as with most similar MS idiot settings ;)

UAC is turned off in my pc.

BTW thats 1150 is DDR speeds so effect would be 2300 ;)

For vista that score is probably about right :) the gts wasnt oc'd so thats why you got under 10k at stock with the GFX card, if it was in XP it would have been 10xxx no doubt! Anyways its fine so no worrying
