I have had the setup in my sig for just over a year now but have never really bothered with 3dmark. Since the new 8800gts 512 last month i have used 3dmark06 a few times and 11144 is about the best i can get.

Just wondered if this seems a good score for this set up or should i be getting more ? have seen people getting 15k+ with single 8800gts 512 cards, i assume this is overclocked ? maybe i should overclock mine, any good overclocking guides ?

Any input welcome :)

It will be a couple of hundred lower due to been in Vista 64, I'd try clocking your CPU to 3.2Ghz+ too and see what score you get.

Its simple to overclock, download the latest Riviatuner and then go to the clock settings in and its just a case over moving the slider, just dont go over 800Mhz and you should be fine, well some GTS's are stable up to 850Mhz I believe.

Cheers for the fast reply,

with regards to the processor, I clocked the e6300 to 2.8ghz origonally to bring the Fsb up to run at the default memory speed (400mhz) at 1:1. this seemed logical, and easy with very little Vcore increase. Also, temperatures were better than stock timings with my freezer 7 pro onboard ! But going past this would mean i would have to either overclock the RAM or use a different RAM to FSB ratio yes ?

Any info on how far THESE giel 6400 sticks will go ? Or am i better off changing the ratio ?

Also, will my freezer 7 pro be adequate cooling at 3.2ghz ? dont want to have to run the fan 100% 24/7 !!

with regards to overclocking the gfx card, that was next on my 'things to do' list ;)

willhub, when you say 850mhz at current and have been to 1000mhz i take it you mean effective clocks ? so your currently 425mhz fsb ?

also do you have any ram cooling if you are using 1.9v or is it not needed ?

Nothing wrong with that ram, running it at 850Mhz 4-4-4-12 here at 1.9V fine and they've been up to 1000Mhz so I dont see why you possibly think they will limit the overclock....

I know there is nothing wrong with that ram.

It will limit his clock though.

425 x 7 is hardly a big clock.

No I', not using ram cooling, I also have 2 sticks of ballistix in there too.

Yea running at 425Mhz.

425Mhz x 8 = 3.4, so you can try and get up to 3.4Ghz. 500 x 7 would be good @ 5-5-5-15.

Simply use 8x multi.

The OP has a 6300 which has a 7x multi.

The 6400 is 8 x multi

easyrider can i ask some advice from you, ive had my e6600 clocked up to 3.7ghz, on my curent 680i board, with my 8800gts 512 @796/1094/2039 all on air cooling, i have some good ram (team extream micron d9 modules) which ive always ran unlinked from my cpu, is their much of a gain in benching from overclocking ram.

anyone got any advice on wether the temps will be ok with a freezer 7 pro at 3.2ghz ?
I have a stacker 830 with plenty of 120mm fans so case temps should be pretty low.

Depends what benchmark you are running.

Best way is to test a few diffrent speeds and timings and see what yeilds the best results.
