3DMark06

Run it and see.

You can then compare your spec and score against others with the same or similar spec.

I just put your details into ORB and that sounds very good. The top score is 4000, but most are 3500 ish.

Ok, ran it and got a score of 3984. Is this near the mark I should expect?
My system (before my X1800XT blew up) got just shy of 3900 in 3D Mark 06 with everything at stock, so that sounds right to me. You can check my compare URL here, as my system is very close to yours spec-wise.

is that really classed as a good score for a X1800XT??
i get 3626 with the 7600GT

just seems low to me compared to that

Well, your CPU will be making a huge difference, especially with an FSB of 290MHz, and I'm guessing your card will be heavily overclocked too. I know my score is below average though as I'm still on socket 754 and using value RAM.

that does make sence yeah, that was with the card at 670/1700. wonder how well it will do at 720/1750 ;)

the bigger the score does not mean the better in gaming, and thats where its at. :)

yeah, the X1800XT still kicks my little card's backside in games :p

:D

You've given me 3D Mark fever now though, and as soon as I was looking through those scores I thought "time to get cracking and see what I can get in 06 with my CPU at 3900+ speeds and my X1800XT at 720/900 as I only ever ran it at stock..."

...then I remembered my X1800XT is currently sitting in a Sapphire warehouse under RMA. :( I wonder how much my X300SE would score! :D

Is it normal for 3DMark05 to drop to 2 fps in some sections?!? :D

My ageing system managed 3230 on it earlier, but it struggled like hell. Still, put me in the top 15% using the same graphics card but any processor. Matched the scores of P3.4/3.6 and newer 939 Athlon 64's - which I was quite pleased by. All using a Radeon 9800XT.
