So what represents a good score in 3DMark06? I came out with 8663, which seems to be good versus all systems, but I'm not so great compared to the 58 similar systems. I'm putting this down to the guru builders/overclockers out there.
I'm benching my recent build and I've been running Super-Pi, S&M, and just now 3DMark06. This is all based on advice found in this forum, but its a first build for me (and assisting a mate with his new build) so I've no idea what's good or not. Btw, this isn't some show-off post, I was just wondering if I'm not doing my system justice in the oc department. Thanks for any opinions.

8600 is low for stock IMO (ducks) I'd expect that score from someone running it on a slow CPU A64 3500+ etc. Were you running with AF and AA set to something other than off?

Mine got 9500ish out the box but I think gainward has tweaked the core a bit as this doesn't seem to be typical - most get about 8800-9200.

also not sure he will get 1600 on the RAM - tho might just be my card - but mine maxes out at about 1550 and mines a good OCing card atleast the core is I've not really bothered with the memory.

You should be able to get the core to 600 however easily with no trouble and no extra cooling (tho extra cooling is always good) and it will massively boost your scores. If you don't get a respectable 10K at 600 core with a core 2 duo then something is wrong...
