3DS Max 9 tutorial videos won't play properly, wrong codec?

I have the student licence edition of Max 9. When i start the program up it brings up a box where i can click on videos of for example how to transform onjects. However whenever i click on one of these videos to view it it only plays sound and no video.

It seems to try and play it with quicktime as an error message soon pops up in quicktime saying it can not play the video back.

Anyone know what codecs it uses please?

I can't recommend codec packs (hate the things with a passion), but if you load the video into GSpot, it should tell you which codec you need.

You tried playing it in VLC?

I can't locate the videos, i can only click on them when i start up Max. Anyone know where they are located, can try playing them in VLC then.
