Well not exactly a competition but more of a meet and show :P

anyway come here and show us your latest projects or something you have just done, newcomers are completely welcome because i am a new comer ;)

I dont have something to show so far but ill get to work on something, like a box :P

If you could show us how you did certain things or a full tutorial of what you did would be cool, not to ask too much :D

oh and also, can someone make a tutorial for me or link me to one, it needs to be highly detailed because im very new to 3ds max in iv been looking for cloth tutorials to make lovely cloth fold over objects and everyone i have followed dont really show me how to do it, when i play the animation the cloth just goes crazy and spikey and floats off somewhere, so a tutorial on cloth would be great.

Thanks a lot

Here's one of mine. Im at work at the moment, so im not going to do a tutorial now, but when i get home i might give some tips and advice. If there are any particular questions about my work, then please ask.

WOW! i really like that, i was working on my first project yesterday, i was making a space ship, suddenly my laptop crashed :(, but i lurnt a lesson (SAVE MY WORK!)

anyway, what do you guys use for smoothing, just the mesh smove or NURMS or is there any good plugins or anything like that?

dont forget i am new ;)

I normally work in edit poly mode, so i use the subdivision surface for smoothing. However a lot of models don't require extra geometry to look smooth, simply by using smoothing groups correctly, you can make low poly models look smooth.

As for saving your work, yes its good practice to save a lot(And under different file names incase the file become corrupt) But look in the Autobak folder in the max folder. AFAIK Autobackup is enabled by default, and will save your model every 10 minutes or so.
