3DS Max

I used to use max, in fact my whole degree was based around it and usint it for 3D modelling, however back then it was V5.2

Fast forward nearly 3 years, and here i am with max9 and the potential to land a VERY good permenant job as a spin off from a chance meeting i had recently wiht a chappy who turns out to be the general manager of a large plc. He has asked me in to discuss employment oppertunites within the 3D area.

Problem...Its been nearly 3 years, and the software interface has changed massively. Can anyone point me in the direction of some tutorials to re-familiarise myself with the program, i have until the 5th jan to get upto speed again or i will miss this oppertunity

Go and buy the Studio max 9 bible. It might be daunting at first, but when you actually have a play around, not a massive amount has changed since 5. The main things you want to look at; Edit poly rather than Edit mesh(The edit poly tools have been improved greatly) The UV unwrap method has changed quite a bit, but once you get used to it, its far better. And Mental Ray is now far better. What sort of work will the job involve?

Edit; Oh and you might want to sign up to somewhere like 3Dtotal.com its a great community over there and can offer endless advice and creative criticism.

Get the christmas special 3ds max fundamentals dvds at 3dbuzz, 100+ hours of training for 60 quid

The work will be engineering visualisation mixed with architectural vis work, tis for a large water plc.

I ordered the fundamentals thing last night, and paypal transaction went through, but 3dbuzz store site says order failed

I read a few folk got that error but the order went through.
I think theres someone called angela that deals with orders [email protected] so could try that to confirm.

Still waiting on mine hopefully will be here soon.

Yeah, emailed as soon as I got the error, nothing back yet. Oh well, not to worried yet, but I do like 3dbuzz stuff
