The design is an utter farce. It communicates with the 3DS via the IR port, so the addon needs its own separate AAA battery. Utter crap.

If you watch footage of Tri G you don't actually need this adapter, it has a D-Pad on the touchscreen you can use for camera adjustment. slightly annoying to use as Nintendo have gone with the resistive touchscreen but better than not integrating support.

Pretty high I'd say if they're desperate enough to release a contraption like that so soon after launch.

Seems highly likely the next iteration of 3DS will have a better battery and the extra analogue stick. Shame about the extra analogue stick as it will fragment the games a bit (those that support it and those that don't).
