3emark06 score to low!!!

In the cpu tests the quad core is taken full advantage of, however when it comes to sm2 and sm3 Im pretty sure the reason for your lower scores is due to the raw clock speed of the two processors you had 3.0Ghz vs 2.2Ghz.
is there any software that can tell me how many cores its using when running a game/app?

A guy posted on those forums mate, he answered that question for you, he lost 3d marks going from an e6600 oc'd then to the quad core 6600 @ stock! So basically you need to wait and clock the card to get a higher 3DMARK score but as for proper games(some more recent ones), you should hopefully see a benefit! :)

Oh an Merry Christmas guys :)

but thats only one guy. that why im asking here just to make sure .;)

anyway i found a q6600 @stock from OcUK 3D MARK 06 TOP-LIST http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=3938054 which scores around the same on the cpu score... also the gpu fps are around the same.... so nothing wrong with my cpu which is good. :)

Well the link you provided has a q6600 clocked to 3.6ghz and has a cpu score of 5577.

As everyone has mentioned already, the reason you have such low sm scores is because of your CPU.

The games tests do not benefit from quad cores. So your 6000+ which has a clock speed of 3ghz, has cores which out perform any 1/2 cores from your phenom. So you get that hit.

If you do a 3dmark05 test and compare them, you will find that the entire score has gone down since the cpu score isnt used in the final score.

edit: Also, your deep freeze test score should be a few fps higher than the canyon test score. Not sure why its so similar. Did you get a glitch?

Gareth. Do a higher resolution run in 3DMark06 and hope that someone with a Quad CPU will do a 3dmark run at stock @ 1680x1050 for to let you compare.

how can i higher the resolution? im using the free version..

anyway i ran css test and i got 224fps @ 1650x1050, no AA, 16x af, everything else on max.. seems about right?

i would like to know how to overclock this cpu as it isn't as simple as just upping the fsb and vcore :(..

Check the AMD section on xtremesystems forums, a few people clocking their Phenoms up to about 2.5/2.6ghz at the moment. Does look pretty confusing compared to the "normal" way...

well i've overclocked my cpu to 2.5ghz and it seem to improve the gpu scores abit but not much..

gpu @ 743/825

3DMark Score 10796 3DMarks

SM 2.0 Score 4278 Marks

SM 3.0 Score 4643 Marks

CPU Score 3657 Marks

Detailed Test Results
Graphics Tests
1 - Return to Proxycon 33.862 FPS

2 - Firefly Forest 37.435 FPS

CPU Tests
CPU1 - Red Valley 1.218 FPS

CPU2 - Red Valley 1.757 FPS

HDR Tests
1 - Canyon Flight (SM 3.0) 44.82 FPS

2 - Deep Freeze (SM 3.0) 48.043 FPS

Are you pleased with your CPU upgrade? Cant you clock it to 3ghz?
well tbh i was hoping quad core wouldn't bottleneck the gpu but i guess i didn't think about that some games only use 1 core... but yes its a good upgrade, applications run much faster, some games run smoother..

i haven't tryed clocking it to 3ghz yet... all the overclocking i've done is within windows via amd overdrive which is very good

Uhm well, even my c2d @ 2,88 ghz bottlenecks my 8800GTS 512 mb, thats the speed of an about 3.6 ghz amd X2 so you really need to clock it at least 50% to bottleneck it less.

@ 2.13 ghz, wich is the speed of about an 2.6-2.8 ghz amd my card is 20% slower than @ 2.88.

So tbh, you'd need 4 ghz on the amd or at least 3.2 ghz on a c2d/c2q to get over bottlenecking.

No offense but from what I'm seeing the Phenoms are overpriced and seriously underpowered.

I almost get the same CPU score in 06 as you on my o/c E6600.
