3G iPhone on PAYG - will it work with my current Simplicity SIM?

I want a 3G iPhone.

I do not want a new contract - I like my current Simplicity one (O2 phoneless SIM-only contract).

If I get a PAYG 3G iPhone for ~£300 (they were briefly advertised on the O2 website as costing £300), will I be able to use my simplicity SIM in it do you think?
