3gb ram?

hi,

right i have a 3800x2 and A8N sli P motherboard, with 2 gig of ram, ( 2X1 gb sticks) vista 64 bit,

is it ok to put another 1gb stick in ? i have X-fi soundcard, and seen that there are still some issues with 4gb, so is another 1gb worth it?
 
Its ok to put in another module yes, though is your running a CPU overclock it might affect your overclock, AFAIK.

As for the sound card, im not entirely sure :confused:

I have a X-Fi Extreme Music and 4GB ram in vista 64 and did have issues with crackling sound but i just used an older set of drivers it its fine.

When new drivers come out i guess i will test them out.
 
a brand new driver came out yesterday for the xfi that fixes any 4gb issues

i've been running 4gb for a few months with no problems with it btw
 
Ok!

as the prices are bit high for ddr, want to get it right, first time, also do not want to use, onboard sound!
