I have a 3gp file from my mobile phone, I would like to convert the file somehow to play on windows media player. Is this possible?
Searching google now but dont seem to get a definite answer, at least one I can understand.

thx...rob

Yes, lots of converters around. Some are free , some you'll have to buy .
There is one free one I know of , I've used it to convert a 3gp into an .avi . It worked good , but I lost the sound .............may have been a codec problem.
try it here : http://***.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

replace the * with ..................you know what .

Quicktime is the worst player out there, just download the klite codec pack and windows media player will be able to play it fine.

I have installed the klite codec pack but windows media player 11 still wont play 3gp files. It comes up saying it cant play the file.
Some assistance please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trying installing Quicktime Alternative, and playing the 3GP files in Media Player Classic. (installed when you install QA).

Before installing all these codec packs and alternative apps I'd recommend trying FFDShow, think it plays 3GP files (tick AMR under Audio and H263 under video), alternatively VLC plays pretty much anything.
