3GS New Icon Appeared

Have noticed a new icon next to the alarm icon and battery indicator. It's a padlock with like a round updating symbol encircling it. Any ideas what it is?

That means the portrait orientation lock is on, ie the display won't rotate when you turn the phone on it side.

Double press the home button and swipe along to the right and you will see the icon to lock and unlock it.

I didn't even realise you could do this on the iPhones, thanks for the tip
