My iphone has been turning off randomly while using apps and making calls for a while now. I have tried restoring it but does not fix the issue. The phone is 3 years old. I would get a 4GS but since the 5 is coming out later this year Id rather wait for that. But I really need a working phone right now.

Mate had the same problem, it needs a new battery.
I think he had to get a refurb from the apple store for £150ish IIRC as they don't seem to do just the battery, but will clarify with him.
PS: There won't be an iPhone 5, it will be the 'new iPhone', or technically, the iPhone (Late 2012).
