3k build need opinion

Hi,

Is this build worth the price?

I want to build a PC for gaming that I can play 1440p games for the next few years.

Would you change any components? Is the PC good enough for the price?

I'd wait for more information about the imminent AMD Zen4 CPUs (launching end of the month I think) and Nvidia 4000 series (possibly may start to become available in October...) before pushing the button...

Also nothing wrong with going all-out, but you could get a solid 1440p rig that would give almost as good an experience as a 12900K and RTX 3090 will give for a fair bit less than £3k if you wanted.

4090 is expected to release in October which will be almost twice as fast as that 3090.
 
the 12900k isnt worth the extra cash over the 12700k.

Would definatly be worth waiting for the 4090 to drop tos ee wha the deal is or if the 3090 drop in price even more.

For £260 you could potentially build a custom water cooling setup and eventually water cool your gpu for a silent rig.
 
RTX 4090 starts at $1600 so turn that figure into £1600 and you can probably sort of budget around that.

may well go AMD next year, first time since pre-Sandybridge. Imagine spending a bunch of cash now on a good Z690 mobo and Meteor Lake next year is a different socket. Its a joke.
 
I’m going to wait and see the prices of zen4 and get a build around new 4090 and zen4. Hopefully I won’t go over the budget too much :p
