£3K Multi Use Rig Feedback and thoughts

I would personally consider 1440p over 4k. You dont quite realise how small the icons are when using it.

Swap for a 980 and get a 1440p panel.

Yea, I'm still tempted by the LG curved display over a 4K for now, though I want to stick with the dual 970s over getting a 980. If 4K becomes more of a mainstream thing over the next year or so I'll probably upgrade the cards and get a 4K display to work alongside the super wide LG

Thanks Ethermaster.

I've got admit I'm liking that case, though only worry would be airflow and upgradability compared to the other case i selected, anyone got any thoughts?

Ill definitely take your advice when it comes to the fans and LEDs. I'm going to put another spec together combining your eye for bling with some of the spec i originally went for :)

Thnx again

Ok, just realised how killer this case is after, reading some reviews. Good saving and stylish with great airflow performance and loving the split sections.

The 540 case can use up to 2*140mm or 3*120mm fans at the front and a 140mm or 120mm at the back, I went for 140mm fans for the case. Also i would go for a H105 over a H100i as the software may not work correctly with windows 8.1, it may have been fixed? The white cables look nice with some UV.

Ah, yea, it was supposed to be the 105 not the 100i, my mistake.

Looks great, its a shame that UV lights play havoc with audio equipment, well at least thats what I've always been told. Will have to double check.

I'll change up the fans to the larger 140s as well.

I have never read about that so I don’t know? I have not notices any change in sound quality since adding the UV lights but I only use a sound blaster for games and an external DAC for music.

No need for UV or CC in my opinion. Just get some white LED's and surround the window parimiter with them, will look immence in the evening especially with the lights on the H100i and on some GPU's. No reason for them to affect audio, as there only LEDs at the end of the day.

I just added the UV tubes but have had blue LED's from before the upgrade so left them in.

I think I'll stick with the white LEDs for now. I think it will look really nice and I wont have to deal with any issues related to the UV lights which cause interference with Analogue audio gear.

though we're trailing away from a hardware discussion and more an aesthetic discussion and I really should put my foot down and make the purchase rather than constantly changing my mind (though I'm waiting for a client to pay up) but I've just had a thought. What about a white orange build? I'm thinking of keeping everything the same apart from changing the cables to orange and getting orange LED's instead of white, how do you think that might look? might even spray the outer black parts of the case orange.

guys, got a quick questions. Do you recommend getting a fan controller rather than running all the fans off the PSU? and if so which fan controller do you recommend? I was looking at the Bitfenix Recon white though it only has 5 channels so i'll need to run one of the fans off the MB while the others can go through the fan controller. Also which BitFenix cables would I use instead of the Molex to 3pin?

Thanks

thanks for the Black / White / Orange goodness lee32uk, much appreciated. I'll definitely take some ideas from you.

Has anyone got any thoughts on the fan controller and fan cabling question I mention above, looking to put my order in this week and really need to make sure I'm grabbing everything I'm going to need.

Thanks

I'm not an expert on fan controllers but they are a nice addition. I just don't like the look of them. There a little ugly. Haha.

I tend to use splitters but these may be a bad idea as I use a few duffebt fans I found the splitter wasn't working properly.

Just so you know, some case now cone with fan controllers in them (on the back of the motherboard tray) I know the enthoo primo has this but I'm sure others do too.
