Any idea what kind of range this would have. Specifically I am thinking of an application where it would have to project from ceiling height to the ground, 2.5-3.0m.

The projected image can be small, 30x30cm, or perhaps less. If the zoom is fixed then an after-market lens can be attached.

Secondly, what would be the expected weight, raw (without any packaging), and power consumption?

I worked closely on the development of this product last year. We trailed it to a maximum of 5m before sever loss of quality occured although its not really meant to be more than 3-5ft.

The weight is around 300g on its own, can't remember power consumption figures but I can find out.

What more could you expect from the people that invented the projector :)

That's ok, 300g is too heavy for my application.

The idea, was to have this mounted to the flying robots (like a fancy RC helicopter) I'm working on. I need a way of project an image or a light source on the ground. Lasers work, but the spot is too small to be visible appropriately. Focused 3W LEDs aren't focused and bright enough to be usable.
But a mini-project would be awesome if it was bright enough for the computer vision of other robots.

Still, somethign I will keep an eye on.

Well I know weight saving was on the 'to-do' list but unless you had a portable sun I'm not sure how you would plan to power it. Weight aim was more 150g if that helps but again, I don't know if it made it.

yeah, but then the actual brightness reduces massively. Lasers are only bright because they are so tightly focused.
