After seeing a Reddit thread on this question, who is your 3rd best player in the last 15 years? We obviously have Messi and Ronaldo as 1st and 2nd (dont argue over what order they are in please)

Your answer should be based on throughout and not just peak as we all know Messi and Ronaldo have been peak for many years out of 15 or so but have been pretty damn amazing throughout.

My go to answer would Ibrahimovic. Maybe Suarez at a very heavy push/bite. What say you OcUK?

Edit: maybe you can give 2 answers, one for consistency over the last 15 years and a second one for at his peak. Up to you.

Good choice but i think Modric beats him to this personally certainly for longevity and trophies won etc.

Suarez was a better player then Ibra at his peak and id hold Mo Salah in higher regard aswell.

Thats a very specific time period, so I guess we want someone that has been playing for as much of those 15 years as possible.

Few good shouts so far, more that would be in my mind:

Modric
Chiellini
Buffon
Lewandowski
Ramos
Lahm

Can you ask a more random question please?
What about the 5th best defender from the 92-93 Bundesliga?

oh come one its a quite simple question. You have Mess and Ron fighting for 1st, who is your 3rd?

Yeah, but it was a question on Reddit, thought it would make for a good discussion here.

Good shout for Buffon, Neuer would be a good shout to goal keeper wise.

It has to be Iniesta. Incredible quality and consistency even as he aged, always sensational for both club and country, scored the winning goal of a World Cup final. Barcelona and Spain's golden age started and ended with him.

Honourable mentions are Lewandowski, Suarez, Xavi, Sergio Ramos, Modric, Buffon, Neuer.

Good choice but i think Modric beats him to this personally certainly for longevity and trophies won etc.

Iniesta had won much more trophies than Modrić.

Kante was at one point immense (was like there were two of him on the pitch), but didn't seem to be able to sustain it. Hazard was up there too, along with De Bruyne, Salah, Aguero. They just get injured and drop off, no one seems to be able to get near to the other two in terms of peak performance, resilience and longevity.

Other than Iniesta, Lewandowski is the only one I can think of that's had the consistency, but then it's the German league...

Iniesta in that timeframe.

If Zidane played for one more season it would have comfortably been him.

Also, Ronaldo was still playing until 2011, so he would definitely be in the mix for peak player.

Modric and Iniesta are the obvious two, although I'd argue that we're all underplaying the PL. De Bruyne has been as good as anyone for 5 years or so now. If he keeps that up another few years he deserves to be in the conversation. You could argue the same about Salah as well.

And slightly left field, but Thiago Silva?
