Hi guys,

I currently have 2 monitors running off my HD4870 but could really use a 3rd ... would it just be a case of buying a cheapo PCI-E graphics card, popping it into my spare PCI-E slot, install the usual drivers for the card, and wham bam my 3rd monitor will be ready to use?

I've never run 2 gfx cards alongside each other that have not been the same card (SLI'd etc)

Thanks!

Yeah exactly that. I have a 4870X2 in the first slot of my motherboard powering a 30" monitor and a 4670 in the last slot powering two 22". easy peazy use the driver software to setup how the monitors are aligned and connected.
Running these two cards not sli/crossfire has no problems, speaking from sli and crossfire bad experience
