Very cunning little workaround. The work's done on the CPU so theoretically can work with any soundcard that can do AC3 passthrough. Amazed I didn't spot it before - just after I go and spend money on a DDL card too. I'm told it takes some effort to get working with X-Fis but there are quite a few Audigy owners.
