3rd party GPU coolers

How easy are they to install? I've never removed the stock HSF off a gpu before and I assume you would need to clean off the old thermal paste etc before applying the new cooler.

Undo some screws, clean off existing TIM, apply new TIM, screw on new cooler.

The old cooler?. Yes, that gets left as a decoration until a game has been fired up and you can get to see the new cooler in action at lower temps. It's also good that you can look at the old cooler and give it the evil eye for not doing the job that the new cooler does.

Well if the card is still under warranty and all of a sudden decided to die then you stick it back on and send it off for RMA
