hi guys..im looking at getting the ati x800 pcie...question do i got stock ati or go third party?? if i do go third party who do i choose?

I'd personally get the ATI drivers and not one of the customised drivers

Get the drivers without the CCC though:

Download the drivers from ATI's website via "Drivers and Software" -> "Windows XP" -> "Windows XP Drivers and Software" -> "FireMV" -> "Current Microsoft certified WHQL Drivers"

Download the "Display Driver, Control Panel" (link)

youll be lucky to get an ATI one...most of them are 3rd party manufacturers. C3D...Saphire or HIS if you want a better cooler on it. They are all the same really.

Is that what he meant?

I didn't know whether he meant that or drivers

If he means manufacturer then it's pretty much impossible to get hold of ATI cards outside of the US that are built by ATI (save Master cards and AIW cards). Any make really would be good - just like Toxic said! :)

okay well im looking in the OCuk shop section of the X800 pcie section....personally which you'd you guys choice...(the x850 isnt a choice as i read you can get the x800 running at x850 speeds with the ATi overclock tool)

The X850 will overclock to though, higher than an X800 because it uses the better R480 core and faster memory.
