Ok I've got 3rd Quadrant (Bottom Right) red ring of doom!

That's Hardware failure yes? :( Or something else?

Have now tried Reseating all cables.

Tried without the HDD.

Nothing. My xbox it has died :(

I take it as it's a hardware failure it's not covered by the 3 year 3 rrod warranty?

Anyone know what Microsoft will charge to repair this out of warranty? Don't want to have to buy a brand new one tbh.

And anyone any idea if I can claim on my contents insurance for this? It's only a £50 excess?

As above, it should be under warranty unless its been modified. If thats the case, chuck it down the stairs then ring your insurance company :)

I thought only when the three red quadrants light up it's covered with the 3 year? I only have 1 Quadrant?

I've been getting the 'General Hardware Failure' warning for a little while now and recently it's been hit or miss as to whether my 360 starts up or not. Power pack light is green and it makes no difference if the hard drive is connected or not so I contacted Microsoft.

I was talked through all the apparent fixes by the operative but they refused to accept that I'd already scoured the net and done all that beforehand. They accepted that I would have to return my 360 to them and then tried to get me to give them CC details for the charge they where wanting to apply. I quickly pointed out that there was a 3 year warranty in place and my 18 month old 360 more than qualifies.

All I got was an 'Oh yeah, you're right' so beware of idiot staff at Microsoft who don't seem to know about their own companies policies.
