My P3 has the above fork fitted.
The bearings were feeling a bit ordinary so decided to replace them as I was altering the stem and had it apart.
When removing the fork there is a tapered metal washer with a rubber seal on the other side at the base of the steering tube (crown race).
I removed it (carefully), but the fork is straight cut with a 90 degree face on it.
The bearing used was a cane creek 1 1/8 tapered bearing, so this mates up to the crown race.
Reassembled with the crown race and a replacement bearing and all was good as it was before.
On my R5 the fork was moulded tapered so the bearing inner race mates perfectly to it & I expected it to be more like that.
