3x 8 pin PCIe for GPU

I have a RM850x PSU and have been using a daisy chained 2x 6+2 pin cable into my 1080ti and had no issues. I will be buying a founders 5080 soon which supplies a 3x 8 pin to 12 pin adapter.

As far as I'm aware the PSU I'm using has only 2 8 pin PCIe ports with 1 being occupied by the daisy chained 2x 6+2 pin. If I used the other empty slot for another 6+2 or 8 pin PCIe, would that supply the required 3x 8 pin power to the card?

looks like that PSU has 5x ports that are denoted as CPU/PCI so should have enough ports unless you have used the other one for something. Is your motherboard using both of the CPU/EPS12v connectors?

Can't see in the case well since the cables are covering the ports so would have to open up everything to be 100% sure but I'm only using a 8 pin for the CPU. The revision of mine has a white label which labels everything as 6+2 PCIe/ 4+4 cpu.

I thought I read PCIe and CPU 8 pins shouldn't be shared but from the looks of this I could use any of the 8 pin ports for either cpu 8x power or PCIe 8x power?

Brilliant thanks. Sorry just to get further clarity. Since I'll be using nvidias 12 pin adapter. If there was anything wrong with the amount of power being given to the GPU, would the adapter just not work or is all the safety features on the PSU end

It will be limited to 450w as it doesn't have the sense pins to deliver up to 600w via the new single connecter.
