4.2Ghz P2 555

Is this a good overclock or should I be gunning for higher chaps?

Stable for 2 hours of prime at this speed.

this is on 1.53v, 4.4 im assuming will need more.

i got mine to 4GHz pretty easily with 2 cores and 3.8GHz with 3 cores, 4th core was dead. so i would say 4.2GHz is pretty good.

Ace, can unlock all cores but max stable is 3.6GHZ....

As its a gaming Rig just waiting for the dozer im thinking better to have uber fast dual with all the L3 cache for max perf?

depending on the games, but i found when i was asking around and the bits i tested 3.8GHz tri core was a lot smoother than 4GHz dual core.

yeh give it a go with different settings.
what was stopping you going higher with them unlocked? hit max voltage or it just wouldnt budge?

Didnt crank the volts up as high, I gave up pretty easy, as I was thinking dual was the way... Im gonna try 3 core now

Will post how it goes in a few mins

Looks like the 3rd core is weak, so 0,1,3 now being used

Tri core very happy @ 4.2ghz

awesome, i found my 0,1,2 were good, 3 would post fine and everything ran alright, but as soon as i started prime95 core 3 workers never started.
tri core @ 4.2GHz should be a nice jump on dual core.

i found that, and this was very time consuming, doing it as a single core on each core to find out what the max each would do on its own to give me a base.
