My i7 920 @ 4.20GHz temperature was pretty good at winter time around 68C max compare to summer time around 73C.

All settings remain the same with the same noctua d14 with noctua 120mm and 140mm fans as a push pull.

What about the rest of you ?

Open your windows and see how low it goes.

I got my old AMD64 down to 17 degrees, but to be honest the ski gloves got in the way of typing in the end.

My windows is shut, as my central heating is on (just a reasonable warm room) I don't want to waste my warm air blewing out of the windows (cost me money and energy)

I did open the windows last time a year back saw my i7 4.00GHz down to 52C under load but that was with a mega air cooler.

This was a while a go, no window or anything open.:)
I would try it again but only currently running a single rad due to a rebuild.

I might try later with all windows open with central heating off tonight (overnight freezing temperature) see how is noctua d14 compare to mega air cooler a year back.

I had to prepare to wear thick jumper on, a gloves and a hat on. :)

@ OP You have a very nice i7 920 there, 4.2Ghz with just 1.232V! I need 1.280V for 4Ghz with my i7 920

I've been getting some chilly HD5850 temps recently though, 16C idle and 25C under load lol! (watercooled) ambient = ******* freezing!

I know, I guess I am a lucky one all thanks to rjkoneill for pick the cherry chip when I brought 4GHz overclock bundle a year back.

I had stable with 1.232v with 25 hours prime95 passed, a maximum ram of 5000mb on linx 50x run all passed.

Quite happy overall with 4.20Ghz but I badly need a new quieter power supply, a better overclock graphic card (probably gigabyte gtx 470 super oc) and probably need a new case as my antec 1200 case is getting me boredom now. :)

The second gen if you liike?

Doesn't really count I suppose as it's idle but this was what my Q6600 was running at in January at 3.2GHz on an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.

get the hafx its great exellent cooling loads of space for future upgrades big fan onside the keep your cards cool exelllent case... better than the 1200 i reckon...:)

I was thinking the same too. I heard that HAFX is an excellent airflow and great cooling side, better than Antec 1200. I might consider this one.

I've been bragging to my mate today about how cool my i3 has been running away from my radiator.. but I've just realised that my mobo pre-overclocked chip has lost its overclock!! Explains a lot -.-

Was getting a minimum temp of 13 and 15 on core 0 and 1 respectively.... Usually they are at 20-25 :P

if you have your heating on, surely it wont make any difference?

for reference, my xeon is currently idle at 15'C

happy days
