4 Bit Colour?

well i got my 19" lg l194wt monitorand was all well and good, set up dual screen all fine with my 17" crt, tft is in first socket on gpu using dvi, crt is in second with the normal monitor connecter.

so i turn on my pc yesterday and it looks like this! :eek:

so i go to the settings and get this message...

so i see my nvidia driver is disabled for some reason, therefor its going mad. is this because i have a dvi and a d-sub plugged into the same gpu? anyone any ideas whats causing this? i have to do a restore to get it back to the normal.
 
ill download the newest driver, and do a proper re-install of the gpu driver, then report back.

but my driver has been fine for ages, and works after the system restore. then when i restart my pc, or shut down/start up, then it goes back to the above. so i have to system restore everytime i start my pc.

first time it happened i messed about with drivers to no avail, but i will do a proper re-install and get newest drivers.
 
Its all to do with vistas new illegal unsigned drivers wotsit. Does pressing F8 (Anyone confirm thats the right one) help? Latest drivers is def what you need though.

i suppose if he was on vista that would help ;)
 
i uninstalled the previous driver and installed the newest whql certified one.

then after the restart it does the same again. i am unsure as to what to do next. :(
 
uninstalled ultramon and sorted out my desktop with nview manager and it seems to work, not holding my breath tho, here what i tshould look like :D

I liked your first screenshot better. I was always a fan of 16 colour display :(

lol :p it wasnt 16 bit, it was 4 bit, not what i want to go back to :)

seems ultramon conflicts with the drivers, anyone know of anything that ultramon has the nvidia nview desktop manager doesnt?
 
ill post the other wallpaper if you want it, the electric blue one is a dual screen wallpaper, which is squashed to one screen, its a v large resolution.

also anyone know how to spread a wallpaper over both monitors without ultramon? i have nvidia nview desktop manager if that helps.

4-bit = 16 unique colours ;)
