4 case fans for "MSI Mech 2x 12GB 6700xt OC" & "H510 Flow"

Hello geniuses, I want your expertise. This is my first build using cheap parts and the performance & quantity of stock fans are shocking - why do they bother including them?

I'm looking for full set of case fans for the H510 Flow, my GPU is currently thermally throttling with the stock two case "fans".

What would you recommend? I've seen the suggestions for the Silent Wings Pro 4, P14's and so on, but my case allows for either two 120mm or two 140mm case fans at the front, and either a 120mm or 140mm fan at the top. The rear exhaust fan must be a 120mm one (I think). Here's the manufacturer's product page.

I like the idea of my fans being future proof for when I finally get that much needed pay rise and buy myself a AMD 9995xtxtx GPU in 2027.

I'm not interested in lighting, but I don't object to it either. I'll take it as a bonus.

Some specs you might find handy:
GPU: MSI 6700xt Mech 2x 12GB OC
CPU: AMD 5600x
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo
Motherboard: Asus PRIME A520M-A II
Case: NZXT H510 Flow
Power supply: Corsair 650w uhhh... I forgot the rest.

first, take the case side panel off you maybe shocked to see it still throttle....
second, TBF NZXT fans are good... see the first point

Note that the idle temperature readouts at idle are probably different because I did the side panel on test after having had my PC booted for an hour and I had let it sit. The GPU fans are off at 40 degrees. For the side panel off I left it switched off for an hour.

the temps are fine..
adding a second intake in the front would never be a bad thing.

if you want to switch the fans out, this is 90% down to look's people dont buy nasty brown fans anymore just because there good..
Corsair, Phanteks and so on there all good.

first thing i would do is look at the fan curve on the GPU, 6700xt's run warm and your doesn't have the best cooler based on that yours genuinely it looks fine.
are the case fan set up to right the AMD 5600 runs cool in games so the fans tend not to ramp, the most i see on mine is about 60c do i have my fans set at 30% till 50c then they jump to 60% and again at 60c they jump to 70%

you want your exhaust fan on 60% or more depending on noise when your gaming, you have to get that air out of the case, i tend to have my intakes set 10% faster than the exhaust to help with flow and they have filter to overcome

I understand that the 6700xt thermal throttles at 95 degrees and I hit 93 with the side panel on and 85 with it off.

I understand the logic of having a good looking fan, but I live in a 130 year old house in rural England just outside of Manchester. I have no wall cavity and cables just run wherever they go. I kid you not for the wall sockets we just drilled a hole into the outside of the house. The outside wall is full of 230V mains cables. My PC can't even run off of WiFi because of the foot thick walls. Having pretty looking fans is just polishing a turd. I've had a look at RGB strip prices on the OCUK store, and I'll pass.

If I where to purchase more fans should I just reuse my stock case fans? Let's say two Phanteks for the front two and use the stock fans for the rear exhaust and top exhaust? For the front two, should I be going for 120mm or 140mm?

yes reuse. i like 140mm to use all the given space and they run a little slower so less noise


a 7c difference with and without the side panels is about right. no matter what you do the case with a panel on will always be a little hotter, look at the gpu fan curve
