Hi, I got my xbox live account a couple of years ago now and my mums debit card which I used to create the account has since been replaced, problem is I need the last 4 digits of its number to migrate my xbox live account to my new xbox 360, is there a way I can find this out?

to answer the first question, I was using the migrate thing on the dashboard, where you type in your gamertag then it asks for that code and some other stuff.. to retrieve accounts. To answer the second I have looked but my Dad sorts reciepts out and gives them to his accountant or something :| he wasnt very clear about that but I did ask.

I had the same problem, I was an original beta user of Xbox Live way back when, but when I wanted to go on the 360 (after no Xbox Live for years) I needed a 4/5 year old card number which was long gone, so I lost the tag 'nokkonwud'.

I think I'll give xbox support a ring tomorrow, see if they can help, I dont want to have to lose a gamertag that still has a few months left, even if it is an awful tag :p

How long ago was the card replaced? I worked in debit cards for Natwest for 3 years, and we could see old cards on the systems for the last couple of years. The systems did get purged from time to time though.

I'd recommend getting your mum to contact her bank and see if they can give her the information. She'll probably have the most luck physically going in to a branch, as a lot of people won't give any card information over the phone (although it's unlikely for someone to have all but the last 4 digits anyway). She will have to know how many cards ago it was, but that can be worked out if you know when you signed up.

You mention credit card in title and debit in the OP so which is it?

If it's the debit card then the last 4 digits will just be the last 4 digits of her account number.

The last 14 digits on all my debit cards are just the branch number/ sort code/ account number.

Just ring Microsoft. I did exactly that as I used to have to account "roboffer" and lost all details associated with it. Just called them and explained and they were happy to help.

It amazes me how hard some people make the simplest of tasks.

First of all, it depends on the bank. Secondly, I don't believe that, as there will have to be a check digit at the end of the account number for a 19 digit PAN, and I believe most banks use a 16 digit PAN now.
