Hey all! I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on supporting 4 monitors? A friend is looking for a solution to allow 4 monitors on one PC. It is not needed for gaming at all, just general website / program display.

Through some research I have seen solutions which involve 1 GPU with 4/6 outputs (expensive). Seen them in SLi / Crossfire, and also just multiple GPU's not in SLi / Crossfire.

What I want to know is if anyone has any experience with it. Can I use 2 x low end GPU's, and will they work together? Something like the 5450's?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Should do.

i make no guarantees, but I have done Z87/97 and GTX980 together before to run two screens to show a previous forum member it could be done.

I'm using 4 screens at work.

I just slung in 2 GPUs i had hanging around, not in SLI as that stops the 2nd card from outputting.

I have a Nvidia quadro 1400 and a GTX 7800 stuck in, all drivers installed and they both display to 2 screens each.

Should be fine with 2 5450s, no crossfire.

Grab 2 5450s, nice and cheap, silent and will work a treat. I used 2 5770s for a while for 4 monitor support without any issues at all, I have an Nvidia card now but always found AMD has better multi monitor support.
I would check outputs though for monitors, maybe you can get a card with 2 DVI outputs per card.
