Hey guys, just got the MSI X99A Krait Edition motherboard and noticed that unlike previous motherboards I've had this not only has the 8 pin EPS connection called JPWR2 at the top but also another 4 pin JPWER3 right next to it, now from what I gather you don't need to connect this unless your doing extreme overclocking, but I will be overclocking and have two graphics cards so would like to connect it up but I only have one cable spare that came with the PSU (AX1200), it's an 8 pin with CPU written one end, that end splits into 2 4 pins, would this be the right cable to use, also would a Bitfenix extension 4-4 pin ATX 12v work with this also or does it have to be EPS not ATX?

That PSU should come with 2xEPS12V cables. There are normally 1 that is solid 8 pin and the other is normally 4+4. Just split the 4+4 apart, stick it in and away you go(They should be keyed so wont go in if its the wrong one. I found that on the Asus X99-E WS boards don't like overclocking if BOTH the 8 pins are not fitted.

That said those control power to the CPU and as far as I am aware there is no interaction with the PCIe voltage so wont make any difference in that regard.

The 12V EPS extension will work fine with 12V ATX..

Hey thanks for the info, so with the one that splits, does it matter which half to put into the 4 pin connector? And the extension I may get is product code CM-159-BX. Thanks.
