currently running two 1gb sticks of 1066 crucial but fancy adding another two to take me to 4gigs. heard this and that about 4 sticks possibly hindering my overclock but as i've only every run two sticks i wouldnt know. Any truth to this and if so how much? my two current sticks are actually underclocked to 1030mhz.

dont really fancy scrapping my two 1gb sticks as theyre only a month old!

It apparantly is true but I believe its more a problem with older boards, you could buy 2x2 gig and make it up to 6, then if you did have a problem you can then decide whether to throttle back your OC a bit or to take out your 2x1 sticks and you'd still have 4gig.
I think its only a problem when you get into the extreme end of OC'ing anyway, just make sure you manually set your DRAM voltage, you may need to bump the NB a touch too but imo you should be OK
