Hi, I'm having another LAN on the 10th of October, trying to think of what 4 V 4 FPS games to play. They don't need to have LAN play specifically, as we can play them online. Or even a game where we can have 8 people in co-op.

Thinking of trying Battlefront 3 Beta and possibly Titanfall too.

I don't know what it is, but everytime that game is suggested, I just can't get into it.

You asked for a 4v4 fps, L4D 1+2 are probably the best options for that, which is why they keep getting mentioned.

Other options however:

Counterstrike (Any version)
Call of Duty (Any version)
Unreal Tournament GOTY Edition (But other UT's are optional too)
Killing Floor (Will need to mod a server for 8 player co-op though, so may not be worthwhile)
Quake 4
Team Fortress 2

I'm sure there are many more...

Guns of Icarus.

Not FPS in the same way as other games listed here. But has elements of first when using the weapons etc, plus it nails the co-op part. Had great fun playing it at a LAN last weekend. A 4 pack on steam is only £15.

The new Unreal Tournament despite being alpha is definitely worth a look too, unless you're likely to be put off with some levels being unfinished (mainly in the graphics department)

Give the new UT pre-alpha a blast. As mentioned, there are not many graphically complete maps (only DM-Outpost, which is a bit small for 4v4 really), but there are enough shells to have a lot of fun.

Quake 3 TDM, the quake 3 maps were awesome and really well suited for TDM's

Q3CTF4 (Space CTF) not sure what it is on quakelive is some of the most fun I've had 4v4 LAN - got a pic somewhere from when I was on holiday once (chalet in the middle of nowhere) and one night turned into an impromptu LAN party on our laptops.

Though left 4 dead versus is a close second.
