I've currently got 2 sticks of 1GB Geil PC6400C4 low latency RAM in my IP35 Pro, and I'm feeling the pinch memory-wise, thanks in part to Vista.

I can't remember if the IP35 Pro has any dislike (or penalties) for 4 sticks versus 2. Also I notice that 2GB sticks are generally a bit slower latency-wise.

Any recommendations on whether to go for another pair of Geil 1GB sticks, or dump them and go for 2 x 2GB?

The IP35 Pro should have no issues with 4 sticks. A touch more NB voltage, and setting the DDR2 Ref Voltage to +2% should be enough to compensate for the extra strain on the NB.

Thanks Cob - that's good news, particularly as the exact sticks I need are in this weeks sale! Cheers :)

Yeah get the extra sticks if you already have some, no problem in that at all :) The IP35 Pro is a fantastic board, built 3 rigs with 4 x 1 gigs so far on that board, just need to up the voltage a bit.

Yea hardly anything can use over 2 gigs on xp.
i'd still get 2gb sticks though because you may want to get 8gb in future
