£40 increase for a 7970 lightning.

The price increase (as psychodil pointed out) is probably due to this now being EOL, what OcUK have in stock atm is likely to be the last of the 'regular' Lightnings so will be looking to recoup as much from them as possible before the BE's come into stock.

Quite looking forward to having a play with one of the BE's, see what if anything this 'XT2' chip has over the regular 'XT'. Quietly confident a BIOS flash should turn current Lightnings into BE's too.
 
Why would you need 2 of them? What game asks for this power? I mean its overkill and like people say you have more money then brains so pay or shut up half of us can't even afford one of these cards!!

Its his life, but still i agree 1 7970 for fullhd or 1920x1200 is enough.
When you go eyefinitie than he might use it. Depends on the games he plays.
 
Prices will change everywhere depending on the climate and stock. It's not like it's changed by a significant amount. You've gone and made a petty thread because of £19. Please don't think it's only Overclockers that do this, it's the world of e-tail (and retail).

This thread needs to be locked, it's just silly and will just get out of hand.
