Hi guys,

I want to buy my son a new TV for his bed room. The TV must be max 40" has this will be placed onto the bed frame of an x-rocker.

I can find 60hz panels no problem but I am thinking for his birthday he will get a ps5 so I would rather buy a TV with abit more useful features like 120hz.

I am struggling to find a TV that is 40" and 120hz do these simply not exist?

Not really a common size unfortunately. 42" you could get 120hz otherwise would have to drop down to 32". If want 40" you will most likely have to go for a monitor at that size for 120hz.

As daft as it may seem, the answer is no. The OLED market has only just got down to 42" from 55" as the smallest size for years, and then more recently 48". The LCD/LED market brands have been pushing the larger sizes as premium sets with advanced features. The days of 32" and 40" TVs being considered main lounge TVs have passed. A gaming monitor is where you need to be. Have a look what OCUK has to offer.

Check this site if you're going to look at monitors: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/best/ps5

The PS5 is very TV-centric in its feature support, so for example if you want VRR support (and you probably do if 120hz is important for you) then you need to make sure the monitor supports HDMI forum spec VRR. This typically means supporting HDMI 2.1, but some manufacturers have backported support to their HDMI 2.0 monitors.
