£400 2500k build is it possible?

Hi eveyone. I was try to put together a budget build based on AMD but everywhere I look I'm told not to bother. so I'm thinking about Intel now, the i5 2500k seems to be most peoples choice.

I've got a budget of £400 for a cpu,mobo,hd,case/psu,8gb ram,dvd drive.

Is it possible? I'm confused about what ram to buy, can someone help pick the hardware?

oh, can i ask a question regarding ram and the speed it runs at? does intel use triple or dual channel? what are you looking for when buying ram?
and whats the deal with chipsets for the 1155 socket? theres three different chipsets.
im confused.
