£400 -£450 Reccomendations

I am looking for reccomendations for a laptop for a friend obviously it wont be used for gaming but still want best bang for buck.
I realise this isnt a huge budget but what can you guys reccomend.

I bought a HP6735s for just under £400.00 Its not the best machine but for the money is not bad at all. Its got an AMD RM-72 @ 2.1Ghz 250GB HDD 4Gig Ram and HD3200 graphics. It came with vista home premium but i have since installed vista ultimate and now windows 7 pro. I did have an overheating problem with it a few months back but as it was under warranty HP fixed it within a week and it now runs perfectly.

most of the acer laptops for that price are a lot better value than most others like dells etc
