I know, I know - I used the word "futureproof". I don't actually mean that, but a friend needs a PC which should last (hardware failure aside) for 5 years or more.
There will be no gaming other than some casual games for his kids, but he's looking for maximum performance for general use, so CPU/RAM/SSD focused.
No monitor/keyboard/mouse needed
Needs to include Windows 7 or allow for it in the price
Basically I'm looking for something quad-core (although 6/8 core wouldn't be a problem) with 256GB SSD ideally (can live with 128GB, as he has HDDs for the rest of his stuff). 4 or 8GB of memory, with 8GB of 1600MHz being preferred, or if that's not possible whichever will give best performance of 8GB of 1333 or 4GB of 1600.
I can find machines which most/all of this, but they tend to sacrifice SSD for GPU and I'd really rather not waste money on a GPU which can be better used on an SSD. Does anything OcUK have fit the bill?
Budget is £400-600, but if I can get him something which covers most/all of the above for £550 or less that'd be perfect.
Cheers guys
