What's the best you can come up with for £400.

No OS or peripherals required.

No specific purpose. An all round PC.

Let's see what you've got :)

P.S. £400 is tops. Less is also good.

How's that? Hard drive is now obviously the killer, if you could get one cheap elsewhere then you could throw some more money at graphics or a cpu cooler if you fancy a bit of an overclock.

ignore. it looks like they have upped the price of my usual home server suggestion, so now its more expensive than the individual parts again :(

Then what you had in post#4 is cool. Wont beat that for the money,

the board has SATAIII and USBIII and HDMI/DVI and DSUB etc.

I don't always keep in the loop with what's hot and what's not. Just wanted confirmation.

No better alternatives to that MSI board? Even if OcUK don't stock it. The only option I could find was the asus at £15 or so more.

You could get a Z68 board so its a bit more future proof if you (mate/offspring) ever adds a "K" CPU and want to overclock?

Offspring lol. I'm 21 :p I hope I don't have any. I'll make a few calls to double check :D... I joke of course.

Was looking at this offering from GB - GA-Z68P-DS3 -

Not much more for the Z68. Think that's the winner.
