Hi all,

My granddad needs a new PC to replace his laptop which is broke and not worth fixing. It will only be used for web browsing and to send out emails, nothing too taxing. As he had a laptop before, I don't think anything is reusable, so he will need everything including mouse, keyboard and OS.

No Case or Monitor needed.

Thanks in advance.

RJC's spec looks good, but what's the difference between a OEM hard drive and a normal one?
OEM drives come in a plain box (usually in a transparent plastic box), where as retail drive you would see something like a box with cover art of with brand name, model number and advertising features and picture of the hardware etc.

But to be honest, if your friend don't use the PC for gaming, he would be better off just get a G530 for around £30, and use the £70 saved for buying the G530 instead of the i3 2120 to buy a SSD. It would make the PC responsivenes FAR better and snappier than the 500GB mechanical drive. You can still keep that 500GB drive as secondary storage drive.

Also SDD is just smaller in physical size...the SATA cable used are still the same ones as 3.5" ones (but if you got a SATA3.0 SSD, you would want to use the SATA3.0 cable that comes with the motherboard (if it support SATA 3.0) and connect it to the SATA 3.0 port on the board.
