£400 max Spec Please...

Hi, Need to spec a build for a office pc, Will need everything except Monitor, Keyboard and operating system.

The PC will be used for general website upgrading so I will be using Photoshop, Fireworks, Notepad, Dreamweaver (sometimes), Wamp, Word, uploading images via ftp, Zipping files etc. Need the pc to be fairly quick.

Currently at work in the office I am running on AMD athlon XP 2200+, 512mb RAM, Radeon 9600 pro So as you could imagine a upgrade is long overdue and using this pc is tiring

Please help me spec Thanks.

Am i going to notice much difference between i5 and i3 with the two specs mentioned above?

Well the i5 will overclock on that board so will be alllot faster.
However use the case/psu bundle from stulids build because i think that case is allot better

Also get the 1600 MHZ xms3 for RAM

For general office usage...no. Out of the two build above, instead of the i5 build, for the same budget I would rather go with stulid's i3 build but add a SSD.

If you are building a PC for a business which is VAT registered then you will be able to claim back the VAT.

So do you want a build that is £400 including VAT or £400 excluding VAT?

Valid point £400 was including VAT. Although Was really wanting to stick to i5 although seems to be pushing £400 Could stretch maybe if worth it, As you see from the PC we have already in my first post it's incredibly old and we don't upgrade too often so something good now that will last 3-4 years is beneficial.

The bottom one, the case and psu are different.

But you can select the RAM I picked as the motherboard only goes upto 1333mhz.

Its not that it wont work, it just wont run at 1600mhz, so the 1333mhz kit is cheaper and is the fastest the board supports.
