Just doing the supplementary system check on the forums before a new build ;)

I will get the Fractal case elsewhere a little cheaper an in stock, and the a keyboard/mouse bundle elsewhere too for around the same price.

Everything look hunky-dory there?

Not sure exactly what you want to use the system for, but maybe one of AMDs APUs would be better suited to the job (I know their onboard gfx are much better than the Intel offering)

It's just for general home use. Internet, flash games, word etc..

I prefer the fractal over the bitfenix (for this situation) as it is nice and compact.
also £400 is the limit, so i can't go over that. Shipping is also free for me.

I had a look at the i3 solution, but it came a little too expensive with the smaller form factor in mind. The APU is another idea. I haven't used one before, so not sure on the performance difference between the two in light usage scenarios. Llano seems like the best price though.

Not sure why i picked a retail drive there :P

How about this? (much better graphics and cpu than previously) and still fits in the fractal. also ammended with stulid's minor changes to hard drive and odd.

I would do, but depends if the client wants to spend the little extra. They wouldn't really use the whole 8gb anyway in the near future with their usage.

Remember the IGP takes away some of the system RAM. The i3 is a better cpu to be using as stulid has shown, plus they have a greater range of CPUs to choose from as upgrades on the 1155 socket.

Yes the llano IGP is better at gaming and video but intel quicksync with their IGP really does help with video encoding (providing the software uses it).

okay slight update as this week's offers have changed:

YOUR BASKET
1 x OcUK E2250SWDA 22" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £94.99
1 x Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £89.99

1 x Antec VP350P 350W '80 Plus' Continuous Power Supply £31.99
1 x OcUK Value 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low-Voltage Single Channel Module £14.99
1 x Samsung SH-S222BB/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £14.99

Total : £401.81 (includes shipping : FREE).

I'm sure i can bump the CPU up 200mhz on the stock cooler to be on par with the other one. memry is now single channel for the sake of a few quid. only slight performance drop, but can be upgraded to 8gb without having to replace any dimms.

You can't overclock the i3 1155's.

You want 2 memory modules for dual channel.

ah ok. i knew the i3 wasn't unlocked, but you can modify the BCLK i guess. Either way, i wouldn't worry about it. the pentium is a bit of a downgrade from the i3 though.
about the RAM i know it's single channel and 2 modules in there is dual channel, but dual channel 2x4 is over budget, and 2x2 is slightly over budget but not upgradeable without getting rid of existing modules.
