Hi, i have £400 to spend on a new AM4 Ryzen CPU and and motherboard.
I already have RAM and a cooler i can reuse.
I was thinking of a Ryzen 7 5700x/5800x cpu.
But which motherboard should i go for?
Overclocking is not a priority but i would like a setup that supports SAM/Resizable BAR.

Id go for the 5800X3D, it cant be overclocked, but AMD pretty much killed overclocking and made it a thing of the past, do you need a cooler too ? 5700X is ok, 5800X runs hot, so you'll need a decent cooler, 5800X3D isnt to bad for heat, as for board, take your pick, id go B550, everyone will have their favourites, Gigabyte, MSI, ASUS etc.

a little over budget but something like:

Thanks for the input.
I don't think a 3xd CPU is worth the extra $$ over a 5800x.
Yes i have a decent cooler setup.
But the only real question i asked was which motherboard to get and does it support SAM/Resizable BAR

Ryzen 5 7600 and a B650 board would be my choice with a Kingston Fury 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR5 5600 (Hynix-M) kit, and your cooler will still work, you can do that for under £500 then sell your left over bits and have a future proof(ish) system.
